I have been following Tom Ryan for years and when he wrote of his meeting with you and that you also were a writer I knew you would be someone worth following. I will enjoy learning about your culture which I admit I know very little of. I am looking forward to it. I wish you a blessed day!
So beautifully written. I lost my beloved mother 9 months ago. As I was reading this I experienced a moment where I felt connected and could physically feel her in my heart. We are so blessed to know love like this. Thank you and may your family members who have passed be at peace.
I really resonated with this post and love thinking of that alcove at the end of the maze of life. Time to reflect would be lovely and also the “tools” we are given.
Reminded me of a lovely poem my Mum recited to me many a time, as her Dad had passed it on to her. If, you will, I would like to pass it on to you and your readers:
Isn’t it funny how princes and kings
and clowns who caper in circus rings,
and ordinary folk, like you and me,
are sent to build eternity.
Each is given a bag of tools,
an hourglass and a book of rules,
so each can build ‘ere his time has flown,
a stumbling block, or a stepping stone.
Love your writings, as I love reading Tom Ryan’s too. ☺️ Thanks and hope you like this. Apparently it is by R L Sharpe, but I heard it with the few changes I have put.
“Fortune and Fate conspired, as they usually do, to create splendor.” That statement stood out to me - one to chew on. What a beautiful moment as you honored her life. And the man in the maze is one to ponder as well - when we visited Sedona a few years back one of the purchases I made from a little shop close to our lodging was a pair of man in the maze sterling earrings, and walked a labyrinth nearby. Whenever I wear them I spend a moment reflecting on their meaning and these stages of life we walk through together.

Thank you. I enjoy writing, but it’s relatively new for me. I’m still trying to find my way. Thanks for coming along on the journey.
Powerful piece Hans! Made me think about what have I done with my gift of life. Thank you.
He is such a good man…!
